style that is all her own.  She is the wealthiest woman in america and now she is becoming one of the most powerful.  Her word and her endorsement of anyone or anything can make you rich or drive you to bankruptcy.  Remeber that big court case with the Texas cow farmers?  They sued her because on her show she said she would never eat beef again.  Can you imagine people believing you have enough power to affect or shut down their entire industry.  As people we have a way of justifying what we want to allow.  We will say things as Christians, like it is not my place to judge or everyone has a right to their own belief.  This being all fine and good, why are we then scared to stand up for what we believe.  Why are we becoming more and more silent as others in the world are becoming more boisterous? The issue about Oprah Winfrey is that she hs millions of not just viewers, but many many of these people would actually call themselves followers or diciples.  Oprah is allowed into millions of homes everyday.  She influneces men women and children alike.  She is dare I say Loved, or even worshiped.  Look at it this way.  Oprah has the ability to give good feelings about being you and is a pro at touching your emotions.  Rush Limbaugh actually said on one of his shows that the reason that Oprah is so popular is because she makes people cry.  Her ability to tap into and reach the feelings and emotions of her viewers is one of the reasons that she is at the top of her craft.  Lets just be honest Oprah has probablly touched us all, and even I have found myself (when I Although “Thou shalt not gamble” is not one of the Ten Commandments, the practice violates some values that Scripture recognizes. In addition to obeying what the Bible teaches explicitly, we must also adhere to the clear inference of Scripture. The principle of stewardship opposes gambling. Christians are to be responsible stewards of all their possessions, including their wealth, and how possessions are used or spent (Psalm 24:1, Matthew 25:14-20). Gambling does not demonstrate responsible stewardship of our resources.


The biblical principle of respecting honest labor and productive work disallows gambling. Seeking to get rich in a way that avoids respectable work violates scriptural truth (Proverbs 12:11, 28:19,20; 2 Thessalonians 3:10). The biblical principle of Christian love towards all human beings opposes gambling. If we love our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:39), we cannot engage in profiting from his losses.


Some who wish to defend gambling suggest life itself is a gamble. They rationalize that no one knows when or how one’s life will end. At any time catastrophe and sickness can upset their lifelong plans. So why, they ask, when life poses such risk should the church oppose lotteries and gambling?

Are You Tired of Being Lied To?

As I have discussed false prophets on many occasions, I have a few questions for you.  Have you ever been “prophesied” over?  Did it come true?  Many of us have been told by ministers, evangelists, and prophets about our futures.  The problem is I have not talked to many people that have told me that these things have come to pass.  A few weeks ago I was told that I should not be judgemental of preachers on TV telling “everyone under the sound of my voice will be out of debt next year”.  I was told that to judge these tele-evangelists was wrong. 

Well for those of you that know me, know that I will continue to call out false doctrine and anyone that is trying to take advantage of those seeking truth.  It is a shame because people even seem addicted to finding a prophet.  The problem with this is that what we have now a day seems more like a fortune teller than a word from God.  I mean really, look at scripture.  When the prophets came to the people, it was not to tell them that they were going to be rich by sowing a seed.  They came and told them to get their lives right because God was about to destroy them.  No true prophet was loved by the masses, they were hated and dispised because the challanged the lives of people to be holy.

When a preacher goes to prophesy over your life be ware.   Did you have to give an offering?   Did they call a “blessing line”?  More importantly. Does this person have a holy life style that you have witnessed?  If they have given prophesies before and they did not come to pass, they are FALSE PROPHETS.  Have nothing to do with them.

Have you ever noticed that some on TV always tell you that the Lord told them that such and such was going to happen.  They seem to always tell you this after the fact.  If there is a true prophet with a true word from God, I would love to meet them, as I am sure you would as well.  I don’t know about you, but I could use a true word from God.

Deuteronomy 18:21-22, “And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”
