The thing is is that we really are screwed, because not only is it going to cost us, for limited space I might add- I'm sorry but the basic plan is not going to work for this show now that we are getting requests to record and review for others in the local area-but it's also nothing to Clickcaster that we are upset or mad, and it means nothing to them if we leave. See the problem is that they couldn't care less about podcasters like us, because if we stay or go, it doesn't affect them. An extra 5-20.00/month more or less in their greedy little pockets is no big deal, really. They are, I'm sure, going to be focused on other big business. However, an extra 5-20.00/month OUT of MY pocket IS a HUGE deal. A very big deal when there's already the cost of the show and you're struggling to make it paycheck to paycheck.

I still say that this is a really shitty way to do business. I used to love Clickcaster and what they were about. now they seem just like all the rest-even worse though, because they came out like they were this cool site offering hosting for free and all this bs and different from all the other shitty businesses out there. Maybe a move isn't a bad idea, but we are torn with the fact that we have a following here and have just committed to other people to possibly record local events. We're screwed either way now really, and It sucks. We still don't know what to do. I think if we do go, we will follow in Damon and Klitt's shoes.

I don't know how anyone else feels about Clickcaster charging in a few months, but I'm not too happy about it, not so much that we will have to shell out money or anything but more the way it was done. When I started up on clickcaster and when the business where I work joined as well, we were partly persuaded because of the FREE part that was, at the time, stressed- "post your podcast for free" etc... not post you podcast for free for now type thing. Bob and I are still trying to figure out what we will do (as if anyone really cares) but neither of us is happy about it.  Well, as long as the rich get richer-right? Whatever. Just my 2 cents. I'm sure everyone else is thrilled to pay for it and Bob and I will have to either quit or suck it up and try to scrounge for some extra cash.

AAK! which reminds me of the article I did. Ok at least with my editor, she's smart and cool and didn't totally rip my piece apart. The magazine? Ick...I still can't bring myself to read it the whole way through. What an embarrassment. I wish I could take my name off it. It's a mess, reads like shit and is dorky as possible. Now everyone is going to wonder what the hell I'm doing chasing a writing career. I can't say too much, because I don't want to lose future jobs, but at the same time, why hire a writer if you're going to just write whatever the fuck you want anyway? And if that's the case, leave my name off it please!!

The podcast was fun. A little rusty for sure, but it will come.
Very glad to have certain people in my life right now. Struggling big time with some issues, but can feel an opening in some ways.

Then again, I'm about to be thousands of dollars in debt for my hospital stays. Will fight the first one, but who knows what will happen. If my book doesn't get to a publisher, I'm screwed. I have to just get it done this week and give it to my agent ASAP. Scary.

Sore sore sore. Not just from the surgery either. Conflict and worry from the usual crap. Sigh.

 

Meeting with D today. B will send a little written something. Shit, with all these amazing people around me, it makes me wonder why I'm so fucked up and stuck. Well, maybe it's changing. Uggh-I only have a little over a week to get everything sent to my (potential) agent. Shit, I hope this works out, because I have had so many rejections it's starting to get to me...and you can see that they really didn't take a look-it's one of those form letters that go out to everyone. I'm wondering now if it's more who you know now how well you write. After reading some of the books that are my "competition", it seems clear that writing is not high on the priority list..or grammar or complete thoughts for that matter. Wasted was good for sure, but the ending was depressing. That's why I'm upping the ante by adding other people's views at the end.

 

I deleted my other 2 blogs-self censure. Stuipd. Well, I worry people forget that things can be written in the moment and not mean it's the cold hard truth of the situation, just one small blip of a thought at the time.

 

I so wish I had a podcast. Although lately my confidence is undeniably waning.

 

heard Csp on the radio for the first time last night-only to sign off early due to the wind (or a smoke break) Not sure what I feel about that whole scenario. I do know that I would be just fine never having to see him again. Some people are just too sick and twisted to not cause harm to others, he is one of those people. Strange that he is great with my niece and nephew and they love him. then again, they don't know the real him. The one who verbally attacks anyone from best friend to mother, brother or sister. It doesn't matter as long as he is putting someone down and viscously making a scene. Very disturbing.

 

Listened to the new yeah yeah yeah's album-got old fast, but it was still good.

 

Oooo gotta dash..taking it a bit easier today after a long day yesterday.

 

When oh when will I move past dial up? Will the internet gods not smile upon me and hand down a broadband offer too good to be refused? Please?? Sigh..or how 'bout a winning lottery ticket..that could work as well, and I could even think about paying these huge medical bills looming in the future..oh shit.

Never before have I been so emotional. Well, possibly. I take that back. I take everything back. I only wish I could take my life back.

 

Strange to find such kindness and compassion in the face of strangers, so much so that I cried when I left. To know that it takes people being paid to be there when you need most, and that despite the money, they are compassionate people anyway. And, just when you think that the world isn't so bad, the ones who are supposed to be there sit and yell at you 6 hours after the fact telling you what a fuck up you are and how you brought it all on yourself....just like in my book. And to everyone you smile and say, it's no big deal knowing deep down that the event has shaken you to your core and made you question who you are and if you really want to be here at all. And then you realize that, yes, maybe you are a fuck up and life is shitty, but for that brief moment when the nurse was handing you a strawberry popsicle that she spent 20 minutes trying to find because she knew it would make you smile, you thought wow maybe someone could actually care about...could care period. And she cried too when I left, maybe knowing how deeply she had touched me..or maybe it was just the end of a long shift for her and she was relieved to go home. I don't know. But in her eyes and in mine there was that sadness of meeting someone you may never see again, and knowing that that's a person you will remember for the rest of you life.

 

Then I come home to find that shitty article. All my hard work looking like a 2 year old wrote it. No flow no rhyme or reason to it. I'm embarrassed to have my name on it. I can't even believe an editor wrote it like that-it's so poorly done that I'm in shock. Yeah, it's money, but at what expense? I certainly don't want people to think that I'm that dumb. Sigh, and another 2 rejections. I just know everyone is all like, I told you so, because you see, I really am a failure. Maybe now that I won't be so fucking sick all the fucking time, it will help. And of course I spent thousands of dollars for all kinds of doctors to give me the run-around, "you're allergic to this" "you need more of that" blah blah when it was something deeper, just as I know. Just as my intuition told me and everyone else said no it's just because you fucked yourself up in the past. yes, I get it. And at the same time, I get it.

 

And now that I'm out? I feel more alone than ever. Even though there were several people who have just been so kind and supportive-it wasn't at all the people I thought would be..a few yes, but in general I mean. I can hardly walk to the store. It sucks. I'm terribly bloated from the gas they filled my body with for the operation..not sure how long it will take for that to go down.I look like a macy's day parade balloon did get one shoe on today, so that was improvement.

 

I don't know. I'm depressed right now. My mom has been great. Sort of. She apologized that she could not defend me against all the craziness that happened. Well, fuck. I'm tired. I think things are just going a different way for me and I have to let go. Jump into the future with no ties to the past. It hurts to much to try to jump while I'm tied to hope and desires and false dreams. It's all pulling on my stitches. Time to let it all go and just be... and get to a point where I could have some potential...or something again.

 

And it hurts, because the words of kindness that are finding their way to me are coming from the wrong person. And it breaks my heart, all while my scars are still forming.

  1. Validation. Clearly clickcaster is not a blogging site. Everyone wants to be heard, loved, acknowledged, and yes, let’s come clean, adored. How can this occur when nobody knows about your blog? Oh, and don’t give me that bs about telling all your friends. See the beauty of myspace is that you don’t have to tell anyone. Bored people look at you blog without you having to lift a finger.

     

 
  1. Editing. When a heartfelt blog disappears in an instant, the fear that this will occur again is so real and the memory so traumatic that blogs all over clickcaster will go unedited. It is a bit of an escape from myspace too. Kind of like going to the co-op as opposed to going to Whole Foods. Nobody pays attention at the co-op. Sometimes that's nice. Whole foods is like a big night out on the town, deer in the headlights type thing. Then, when my body or the fatigue wins out, I end up having one of those days, torn between guilt and the bliss of letting go. Then comes the fear. Sometimes I wonder if it would be better to have someone there to keep me in check, but then I remember that life is to be lived alone. And death to be died alone? Those lessons are for learning for and by the self. And yet..there’s a piece of me that longs to be able to let someone else in. Sigh, I suppose I do let a few people in, mostly those who have the same shit to wade through. All that must be said in those cases is, “I’m having one of those days.” It means different things to all of us, but we can all relate on some level.
I’m kind of liking blogging to an empty audience. Knowing that nobody really reads this blog is a pleasant combination of missing being in the spotlight but having the freedom to resist censuring what I write. Let’s face it, on some level, writing in a journal is different than writing in a blog. This is a bit of a compromise, because I know it’s highly unlikely that anyone reads this here blog, but there’s a chance that someone might. Eeeeeeeeeeee!
Ha, ok so now that I’m alone here, I have to confess that things are strange in my life. No direction, no financial security, no routine cemented in my concrete obsessive brain….it’s kinda scary, kinda sad, and very alarming that I’m approaching 40 and so unable to take care of myself in terms of the future. There are millions of ways to earn money, and I continually seem to fall upon jobs that I either hate.. or love but pay dirt. Ahh to be an American. The joy. **(I forgot what I put here. something though..)
Again with the pointless play list…sigh, ok for some reason instead of the obvious by Limp Bizkit, I’m going with Word up by Korn. Don’t even ask me why. I’d add more, but it really is as pointless as the previous and as pointless as the pointless forest, which really wasn’t so pointless in the end. Was social yesterday for once. Started working again, big step. Went ok. Well, as well as that kind of work can go. Actually it kinda sucked or I did ick to be honest the whole thing is just disturbing to me and I kind of hate it. Sigh, But ! It sure helps when those bills come rolling in! When faced with the choice and you know there's $200.00 for a blood test to be paid, 5 min of something against every grain of your body doesn't seems so bad. Especially when you know that kind of cash would mean working a full day at any other job. Plus, I bought myself something, which is oh so rare. And it wasn't cheap..which is even more rare! probably won't get the chance to use it like I wanted, but such is life.

 

 

Ahhh-such a bummer I have to run! Must hole myself up tonight and write. I need it.

Damn.

 

And again-no recording equipment to make any playlist. Today is a Start Trouble kind of day. Chemical. yes, and TV on the Radio- staring at the sun. I'd add that to my list. Westworld-sonic boom boy. yeah, that would be good too. And maybe Easy by the Beta Band. And Ride- by the vines, for old time/s sake. And since we're on rides-Pony ride by BumbleBeez.

 

Damn I'm feeling vulernable today. Could bombs bring peace in the middle east? who would have thought? Not our bombs of course.

Nobody locally is happy that the levees can’t be finished, and we are doing everything we can to make the case that this is a security issue for us.

The White House has yet to come up with a workable plan to rebuild the drowned city. As it stands, the floods have purged the city of its poor. It seems that the majority of the population who built homes in the low-lying areas when the storm hit hardest were African Americans. There is much talk about avoiding building in these areas to avoid another disaster of this magnitude, but could there be another reason behind the resistance to allow lower income citizens to rebuild their homes?
The White House has already come out and stated that they see no reason to re-create failing schools and flawed public housing in New Orleans. Could this mean that they are vying for a whiter state? A more Republican state? In a state where black voters have provided a slim democratic edge in recent elections, keeping the poorest out of the running would certainly allow for more Republican victories. Although Bush advisors deny any accusations about racial engineering, they fully admit that there is little interest and little pressure to rebuild New Orleans at this time. Meanwhile there are still people without electricity trying to survive. While all eyes are on the war in Iraq, we seem to have forgotten our own disaster right here in our homeland. Time to vote this monkey out of office, I say.
 

While I’m on a Republicans are greedy insensitive alcoholic losers who take advantage any time they can rant here, isn’t it a bit of poetic justice that VP Cheney shot his hunting partner? I’m never for the killing of innocent people, but I do find that Karma sometimes gets it right....or at least pretty damn close!
